This was not a subject I had heard anything but in an effort to read more non-fiction I chose this and am very pleased I did.  It tells the horrifying true story of the events that took place in 1884 on a lifeboat at sea. Captain Dudley and his crew on the yacht Mignonette found themselves adrift, and in an effort to survive the crew decided to murder the young cabin boy Richard Parker. This led to a huge controversy and a landmark murder trial. The author gives us an interesting case and draws on legal documents to recount this harrowing tale. It is very well written and researched. Highly recommended. Thank you to the author, the publishers, and to Netgalley for this ARC.

Book Review: Renegade Demon which is book one in the Primal Payne series by Louis Park

 Hello you, Two reviews in one day, I have been reading a lot recently. This review is on  Renegade Demon which is book one in the Primal Payne series by  Louis Park   No wonder Dick Payne has problems! Our protagonist is a bit dysfunctional to say the least but he certainly is fun. Its a comedy horror romp and is a very well written book, and revolves around Dick and his fairly ordinary life until he meets a wizard and that's where things really take off. It is a fun filled dark comedy that really hovers around the line and is not afraid to go too far.   There is a lot of coarse language in this book and some low brow jokes and if that is something that bothers you then maybe steer away from this one however I look forward to the next works in this series.  Book Review. And He Shall Appear by Kate van der Borgh A haunting novel, perfect for fans of dark academia. A tale of a friendship with a slice of obsession. It alternates between two time periods and does that really well. The characters are interesting and well written and they develop through the novel. Its a tricky one to categorize without giving too much away, An enjoyable read perfect for a dark winters night. Thanks to the publishers and to Netgalley for this ARC.
