The Palace Beneath the Sea by Lauren Wiesebron

This book follows Nolwenn, a lighthouse keeper tasked with keeping the city safe and on her trip to gather seasilk she meets a merman. Through him she experiences the palace that is beneath the sea. As they fall in love Nolwenn has to make a decision, return to land and protect the city or stay bellow with Morvan. This is a love story and it is a really interesting premise and the characters are well written and they have a nice connection. The writing is very descriptive, and at times it's a bit too much. I love books with detailed world building as they really help immerse you in the world but at times with this novel, while the world building is great, the language is a little too flowery for me and it gets a bit too overly descriptive at the detriment of advancing the plot.  Overall I did like the book and it was a change from the darker fantasies I normally read. Life Hacks For A Little Alien Alice Franklin

  A story for everyone who has ever felt just that little bit different.  The tale of Little Alien is heartwarming and we follow how they navigate the world around them through the book they are trying to understand, it is t old from the second perspective.  When the Alien discovers the unusual Voynich manuscript she becomes convinced that it will explain the mysteries of the world, and ultimately herself too.  .Personally second point of perspective is a little bit tricky to read at times as its not something I overly choose to read. It's a very quick read and does flow well and it is broken at times by footnotes.  Thank you NetGalley as always and to little, Brown and Company for sending this book to review.

Book Review: Renegade Demon which is book one in the Primal Payne series by Louis Park

 Hello you, Two reviews in one day, I have been reading a lot recently. This review is on  Renegade Demon which is book one in the Primal Payne series by  Louis Park   No wonder Dick Payne has problems! Our protagonist is a bit dysfunctional to say the least but he certainly is fun. Its a comedy horror romp and is a very well written book, and revolves around Dick and his fairly ordinary life until he meets a wizard and that's where things really take off. It is a fun filled dark comedy that really hovers around the line and is not afraid to go too far.   There is a lot of coarse language in this book and some low brow jokes and if that is something that bothers you then maybe steer away from this one however I look forward to the next works in this series.
