Good evening friends ! The next book I have started reading is I’m Absolutely Fine! A Manual for Imperfect Women by Annabel Rivkin; Emilie McMeekan. The reviews so far seem to be veering around the 3 out of 5. I won’t let reviews sway me and I’m looking forward to getting started

Okay another post, and it's a book review ! The book I have just finished is called The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind by Jackson Ford. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Honestly this book took me longer to read and therefore review than I was expecting but that wasn't the books fault...more me being busy and forgetful : ) On to the review... Now to start Jackson Ford is a pseudonym for a critically acclaimed science fiction author. This is intriguing, I like sci fi and I like little literary mysteries so that and the description (and title) really hooked me in. Tegan Frost our protagonist, and one of the two narrative POV's in this novel, has psychokinetic power. Her character is well developed and I liked her narrative voice. This book is a fun little read, it's fairly fast-paced and generally felt like a good escapist summer read, which was exactly what I was seeking. It has elements of a superhero ty...

Hello everyone ! Please forgive the sporadic nature that is my blog, sometimes I'm really inspired to write stuff and sometimes I'm not. So meh ! Anyway, it has been a very busy summer here, and I for one would love a holiday, hopefully I'll be able to disappear for a few days at the end of this month. I've really been thinking about a few different thngs I want or want to experience. Lets call these goals, though that's probably not the term I mean but it's the best my brain can do right now. First, I'd like to get a Nintendo Switch, a friend of mine was talking about it and the more he was describing it to me the more it seemed like something I'd find useful. I like the idea that it is a console and a handheld at the same time. Sounds pretty nifty to me ! Second, I really want to visit Disneyland again, it's been several years since I was last there and I'd love to revisit it. Also, one more thought, since the last blog I had a birthday...

Good evening! Just a quick post tonight to update you on the next book I’m reading. It’s called The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind by Jackson Ford. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. The books description states, ‘ FOR TEAGAN FROST, SH*T JUST GOT REAL. Teagan Frost is having a hard time keeping it together. Sure, she's got telekinetic powers - a skill that the government is all too happy to make use of, sending her on secret break-in missions that no ordinary human could carry out. But all she really wants to do is kick back, have a beer, and pretend she's normal for once. But then a body turns up at the site of her last job - murdered in a way that only someone like Teagan could have pulled off. She's got 24 hours to clear her name - and it's not just her life at stake. If she can't unravel the conspiracy in time, her hometown of Los Angeles will be in the crosshairs of an underground battle that's on the bri...

The next book on my list that I have read is called Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor. It is the first story of a series. To sum this book simply (which admittedly is difficult) would be to say it is pure escapism at its best. I loved the book. The characters we meet through the novel take you on their historical adventures, and the story is an engrossing imaginative retelling of historical events. Our first person narrator Max is a young woman with a difficult, if slightly cloudy past to become a doctor and to literally 'change' history. The book follows her first years working for the mysterious St Mary's, this is a secret organisation that uses that old sci-fi favourite time travel to study history. Naturally this leads to some mishaps and a few scrapes along the way. Max is an interesting character, a talented woman with a keen sense of humor who manages to plan an escape in the most difficult of circumstances. N...

Luckily for me I've had a fairly quiet weekend and start to my week. So I've taken advantage of that by finishing one of the books I requested on Netgalley. I have just finished The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus by Alanna McFall. I loved the book, it was a very interesting premise and I really liked the characters particulary Cyndricka. I won't go to much into the details as I don't want to give any spoliers to this book, as I do want this blog of mine to be spolier free. Honestly it was the description of the book that first drew my attention to it. As the description states ‘Chelsea is determined to make it to her brother’s wedding. And she’s not going to let the fact that she’s been dead for two years stop her. Joining with her mime friend from a New York City park and her ghostly mentor with forty years of afterlife under her belt, the three women set out on foot for San Francisco. Along the way, they are faced with joy, sorrow, and the haunting surpr...

Big thanks to Netgalley and the novel’s publishers abs of course author ! Just started to read this novel, I’m only on the early chapters so far but I really like it. The characters are really well created and I’m intrigued to see what happens. The description of the book was what first drew my attention to it. As the description states ‘ Chelsea is determined to make it to her brother’s wedding. And she’s not going to let the fact that she’s been dead for two years stop her. Joining with her mime friend from a New York City park and her ghostly mentor with forty years of afterlife under her belt, the three women set out on foot for San Francisco. Along the way, they are faced with joy, sorrow, and the haunting surprises of the open road. This humorous and lightly macabre journey explores relationships, personal burdens, and what it means to keep moving, even when your heartbeat has stopped‘. Initially I wasn’t sure what to make of a book with a dead protagonist especially as...

Back onto Netgalley again. I’ve requested and been lucky enough to be given a copy of The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus from NetGalley. it’s a very interesting premise and I love the sound of the characters. I’ll download it into my kindle this afternoon and begin it soon. I’m realky hoping it’s a good novel as the title, description and cover art are very appealing.
