On to the next book which is...

The next book on my list that I have read is called  Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor. It is the first story of a series. To sum this book simply (which admittedly is difficult) would be to say it is pure escapism at its best. I loved the book. The characters we meet through the novel  take you on their historical adventures, and the story is an engrossing imaginative  retelling of historical events. Our  first person narrator Max is a young woman with a difficult, if slightly cloudy past to become a doctor and to literally 'change'  history. The book follows her first years working for the mysterious St Mary's, this is a  secret organisation that uses that old sci-fi favourite time travel to study history. Naturally this leads to some mishaps and a few scrapes along the way. Max is an interesting character, a  talented woman with a keen sense of humor who manages to  plan an escape in the most difficult of circumstances. N...

Finished reading The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus by Alanna McFall

Luckily for me I've had a fairly quiet weekend and start to my week. So I've taken advantage of that by finishing one of the books I requested on Netgalley. I have just finished The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus by Alanna McFall. I loved the book, it was a very interesting premise and I really liked the characters particulary Cyndricka. I won't go to much into the details as I don't want to give any spoliers to this book, as I do want this blog of mine to be spolier free. Honestly it was the description of the book that first drew my attention to it. As the description states ‘Chelsea is determined to make it to her brother’s wedding. And she’s not going to let the fact that she’s been dead for two years stop her.  Joining with her mime friend from a New York City park and her ghostly mentor with forty years of afterlife under her belt, the three women set out on foot for San Francisco. Along the way, they are faced with joy, sorrow, and the haunting surpr...
Netgalley has been fantastic. I’ve requested to read several books and they’ve all been approved. Lots of summer reading !
Have been very lucky over the past few days to be approved for a number of Netgalley books to review. Looking forward to finishing the current novel over the weekend and then on to the next one...the only problem is...which one of the fantastic books to choose !

The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus by Alanna McFall

Big thanks to Netgalley and the novel’s publishers abs of course author ! Just started to read this novel, I’m only on the early chapters so far but I really like it. The characters are really well created and I’m intrigued to see what happens. The description of the book was what first drew my attention to it. As the description states ‘ Chelsea is determined to make it to her brother’s wedding. And she’s not going to let the fact that she’s been dead for two years stop her.  Joining with her mime friend from a New York City park and her ghostly mentor with forty years of afterlife under her belt, the three women set out on foot for San Francisco. Along the way, they are faced with joy, sorrow, and the haunting surprises of the open road. This humorous and lightly macabre journey explores relationships, personal burdens, and what it means to keep moving, even when your heartbeat has stopped‘. Initially I wasn’t sure what to make of a book with a dead protagonist especially as...
Back onto Netgalley again. I’ve requested and been lucky enough to be given a copy of  The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus  from NetGalley. it’s a very interesting premise and I love the sound of the characters. I’ll download it into my kindle this afternoon and begin it soon. I’m realky hoping it’s a good novel as the title, description and cover art are very appealing.
As you’ve probably noticed by now I’m terrible with keeping a blog. It’s something I’ve wanted to keep but sometimes I just forget about it. I’ll have to start making this a more regular thing as I do enjoy writing.
